Responsibility
Sustainability
Ypres is a boutique label and as such, we strive never to over-produce, limiting our impact on the environment. We intend to produce based on demand, reducing our impact in a multi-faceted way;
Creating less emissions throughout the manufacturing process; and
Ensuring excess product does not end up in landfill.
To deliver on this promise, we release pre-orders for each collection ensuring calculated orders to satisfy the demand of our customers.
Ethnical Manufacturing
Ypres considers manufacturing ethical only if it satisfies certain standards from both a material and working perspective.
Suppliers must source our leather from tanneries accredited against the Leather Working Group (LWG) standard — a global multi-stakeholder community committed to building sustainable future with responsible leather. Where possible, other textiles and materials used must be recycled or made from organic fibres; including our packaging.
Our manufacturer strives to deliver high working standards for all employees, promoting well-being, staff training and risk management as top priorities. We only recognise suppliers audited by Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA), who is one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world.
